Food allergies and food sensitivities can cause a variety of negative symptoms within the body. Some symptoms present immediately such as with IgE food allergies, while others present slowly and gradually over time (IgG sensivities). Testing may be necessary to isolate single food allergens and/or sensitivities. It may be necessary to rule out certain conditions such as celiac disease. Many times, individuals will respond to an elimination diet followed by a food challenge to monitor relief of symptoms and exacerbation of symptoms, respectively.
