Nutrition 4 U offers a variety of functional lab kits available to clients to assist in the diagnosis of various conditions. These test kits are available free of charge, but there is a fee associated with the lab collecting the specimen and running the analysis. Some insurance companies will cover the fees associated with these labs depending on the diagnosis and your personal insurance plan. Functional lab testing services are provided through Metametrix and Genova Diagnostics.
Functional Lab Testing Kits Available:
There are several different kits available, and they are recommended on an individual basis (per symptoms, other lab findings, prior interventions, etc).
The more common tests utilized include:
- Adrenal Function: Salivary cortisol and DHEA
- Gastrointestinal-Stool Testing
- Gluten Senstivity/Celiac
- Food Sensivities
- Organic Acids Test (to evaluate problems with detoxification, gut dysbiosis or oxidative stress)
- Fatty Acids Test (to measure key omega3 and omega 6 fatty acids)
- Hormone-Estronex Profile (evaluate risk for estrogen sensitive cancers)
